Bits Are Bits ...

bits
When it comes down to it, bits are bits. The Internet does not discriminate. Email bits look no differently than music bits, or news bits, or game bits. Predator bits lay down on magnetic media just like prey bits. This phenomenon has almost absolutely no relationship with the real world.

It’s in this uber-egalitarian scenario that we must find a way to excite bits, differentiate bits and make bits stand out from one another. I am not talking about Net Neutrality or the Digital Divide, I’m talking about why you choose some bits over others. There has to be choice, there has to be a “why” to our digital “what”, even more so as we soon have ultimate instant gratification and options. There has always been good art and bad trash, good music and bad noise, good food and bad cuisine. But are there good and bad bits?

MAST Labs is dedicated to creating bits that matter, audio bits, and turning simple objects of static bits into dynamic events and unleashing new commerce models upon an already existing revolutionary tumult. There are many things in motion at the moment, from DRM, copyright laws, innovation and social forces, to boundaries, mores and cultural upheavals. But one thing will remain certain: there are good bits and bad bits. That is just like the real world. You make the great audio. We’ll make good bits. ~cjh
